The current Australian Psychological Society (APS) recommended fee is $267.00 per 50minute session. My fee structure is as follows: Children, Teen and Adult counselling: Initial session (50-60mins): .............$240 Follow up session (50-60mins): .....$240 Couples counselling: Initial session (90mins) ....................... $350 Subsequent sessions (50-75mins)... $300 DVA or Military White/Gold Card holders:............No out of pocket cost Diagnostic/Educational Assessments Specific Learning Difficulties ADHD (adult and child) IQ Autism Educational achievement/ ability Fee includes detailed report............. $1500-$2800 approx. If you have a Mental Health Care Treatment plan, you will be able to access a rebate from Medicare. Where you have been referred by a specialist (paediatrician/psychiatrist) for an assessment of Autism, you may be able to access additional rebated sessions for the purposes of assessment. Please note: 1. Medicare rebates are not available for couples therapy, cognitive assessments, parenting sessions when the child is not present, and some other specific situations. 2. Unfortunately I do not offer reduced fee services for students or pension holders.

Yes. Medicare Rebate A referral or Mental Health Care Plan from your GP is necessary for you to be eligible to receive a Medicare rebate for 10 sessions per calendar year. Just ask your GP for a referral to Dr Violette McGaw. Private Health Insurance You may be able to make a claim with your private health insurance provider. Please check with your health fund for details. Note: No rebates are available for couples counselling, psycho-educational assessments or reports.
